An infection at the centre of your tooth can lead to pain when eating or drinking, facial swelling and the loosening of your tooth.
If left untreated, the infection can establish itself deep in the pulp of your tooth, leaving no option but to remove it.
However, root canal treatments – by removing the infection – can help prevent the need for an extraction and extend the life of your tooth.
What we do
The nerve that runs down the root(s) is removed, the tooth is disinfected and a filling material is placed where the nerve once ran. The tooth is then sealed up with a filling.
Root canal procedures have a bit of a bad reputation, but the truth is, they’re done under local anaesthetic so are really no different than having a filling.
